The Correct Sequences to apply your skincare products
There are tons of skin care products out and about selling in the market that's vary by the function or benefit of it for different types of skin. Some still confuse with the step & the application of which to which for the skin care products started with cleanser, toner, serum and etc. Also, some has mistakenly applied the incorrect sequence of the skin care on their skin. Figuring out the right sequence to apply your skin care products might be difficult for you and not knowing that you have skipped / have not taken seriously for some steps by most people. In fact, the correct sequence actually does affect the effectiveness of the skin care products on your skin. Often, People tend to find the right product for their skin but they didn’t apply them correctly. But after some research and trial, what I discovered actually makes a lot of sense and its work for me for quite sometimes after practically applied the correct sequences and became my best skin care routine.
The 1st rule is to layer your products from thin to thick. It goes from the product that you want to get the result based on how effective you wanted each to be on your skin. Basically, what you are about to do is so called “layering”. Lemme tell you step by step:
In this blog, I’m not going to tell about the specific skin care products that I’ve been using. I just write in general those sequences for skin care routine. HAPPY LAYERING!!!
DAY ROUTINE
1. Cleanser
Well, as you woke up in the morning, there is not much dirt or chemical remnant on your face. So, you can just cleanse your face as usual with the right product for your skin type.
2. Toner
Most of people skipped this step without concerning its importance as one of skin care routine. A cleanser can only do so much for your skin, so using a toner is a best way to finish off this first phase and assure all dirt and oils are wiped away with a clean cotton pad. Just make sure to avoid harsh cleansers that contain alcohol.
3. Serum (Optional)but, I practically use it.
Serum mostly uses to focus on any problem areas such as acne, pigmentation, dry, oily skin and etc. Serums are a great solution to uneven skin tone, dull skin, fine lines, and more. Only apply serum after your toner dried.
Most people only wore them at night, but for some reason of the bad skin condition or how bad you wanted it to effective on your skin, you still can apply it both day & night.
4. Moisturizer
No matter what is your skin type, it’s important to use a moisturizer daily. It helps the skin to hydrate and result in smooth and moist skin. Wait until your serum dried for a few sec before you apply it.
5. Sunblock
It’s a must to a apply sunblock every time you’re going out, especially during daytime. Well, not just blindly applied them on your skin. You must know what’s good for your skin type especially for your face. For those with a combination skin can use a sunblock with SPF50 PA+++ that have both UVB & UBA protection. Applied & Left it for 15min so, your skin can absorb the product.
NIGHT ROUTINE
1. Cleanser
Have you ever heard about double cleansing? Well, I must say that double cleansing is better than only one cleanse. Why duhh?... This is an extra for those who does makeup every day, regardless how thick your make up as long as there’s makeup on your face. So, after you swept off the makeup, Cleanse your face with the oily cleanser to remove the impurity or remnants of makeup that can’t be removed perfectly by makeup remover. There’re a lot of cleanser product that help remove the remaining makeup while cleanse deep in the pores. Then, you can regularly cleanse your skin with a normal facial cleanser such as Cetaphil, a cleansing foam etc.
2. Toner
Again, toner is especially important at night to really wash away any impurities from the day of your remaining makeup.
3. Serum (optional. Again, I practically use it)
At night, serum did their job. So, make sure you put on your serum or any treatment skin product like acne treatment, pigmentation treatment after the toner step. Let it dry on your skin.
4. Eye cream
The eye serum best use at night. That’s the time your skin is working on with the product and resting from the makeup & sweat for the whole day.
5. Moisturizer / Facial oil
The last layer for the night skin care routine is applying moisturizer on your skin. For those with dry skin, facial oil is the latest obsession.
And, you’re ready to sleep. Wake up the next morning repeating the same steps as routine. You will see the effectiveness of the skin care product you’ve chosen for your skin will work.
