HiddenGem in Kuching that No one tell you!

HIDDEN PLACES IN KUCHING THAT YOU NEVER KNOW

Besides Kuching City and apart of it, there are hiddengem places that some people might not know or less known in the Kuching’s district which are Tondong/Bau, Lundu and Sematan!

Is is estimated 1 hour plus of journey from Kuching city by car. Other than personal car, it easy to find transportation to there. Tourist can either come by public bus, public taxi, car / motorbike rental or etc from Kuching city to these places. 

TONDONG/ BAU AREA:

Mount Singai trails

The mount that not far away from the road to Serapi Mount and Matang. The scenery from top of it definately manificient.

Mount Singai Church

This is an old Church that located at the foot of the Mount Singai. The visitor can be a volunteer by doing charity to carry either stone, wall block, building material and etc to the church for its reconstruction and renovation.

Sitiawan Street

Sitiawan street market is an old building of the double-storey shop that still operate days & nights. You can find a lot of food variety there that cooked homemade. 

Mendu Escape

It's a breathtaking view from the top of this resort. The scenery absolutely amazing and peaceful from the nature. It's not suitable for families that travel with small kids or infant... 

Borneo Tribal Village

One of the Bidayuh Jagoi cultural village is located in the area of Bau. The ethnicity are Bidayuh, Jagoi and etc that lives in the tradition cultural house. 

Jagoi Hills

Bau land is rich of it greens nature and hills. Jagoi hill is the best place to enjoy the landscape of the Bau land on the top of the hills. 

Skuduk Village

On your way to Bau, drop by Skuduk Village to pay a visit and experience the surroundings at there.

Blue Lake ( Tasik Biru)

Previously was known as Tai Parit Lake, is a huge 6 hectare, 91 meters deep man-made lake as a result of gold mining quarry activity by the Borneo Company. It best for sight-seeing the whole area of the lake.

Wind & fairy caves 

Both of these caves located not far away from the Bau town. The best nature view showed inside a cave. 

LUNDU AREAS:

Lundu town & the waterfront

A small town that is a centre of economic for Lundu. The ethnicity and mix-religion is nothing like other places else. The  side along the waterfront recently as the venue for watersport, events or concerts and festival’s rally etc. 

Gunung Gading National Park

Gunung Gading National Park has been the most significant in Lundu of its Raflessia flower, the seven layers of waterfalls, also provided a small museum on the history of Lundu and of course the nature of it.

Pandan beach

As Lundu located at the tip of Kuching’s maps which made Lundu also have it own beaches such as Pandan & Siar beaches that most well-known. Theses beaches always crowded by the local people during weekends with a lot of activties. 

Reunion Retreat & resort Lundu

One of the famous resort to stay if you visiting Pandan beach. Like any other resorts, it have type of room / chalet that your can choose accordance the events, celebrations with the best view of the resort. 

Basaga Holiday Resort Lundu

Newly develop in Lundu, The Basaga resort located at Pandan Beach. There a few more resort or chalet along the Pandan Beach that you can choose accommodate withe the budget.

Gondol hill, Lundu

 

A hill that stuck beside the Pandan beach also a new attraction in Lundu. The view of sea and nature really breath-taking and refreshing. Visitor can make a camp or watching sun-set / rise while enjoying the scenery. 

Permata & Pugu beaches

On these beach you can do activities such as camping, BBQ, picnic and beach sport with family

Rock View Agrotek & Siar Beach

An agrotek that located at Siar beach is a new attraction for visitor with a best view and activities.

Siar beach is not far away from Pandan beach. The activity suitable from swimming, camping, BBQ etc as a family recreation. 

Siar Tranquill

While enjoying the scenery by the beaches and the nature around it, Siar tranquill is the best stay for couple, group of friends or family for a relaxing moments and stay. 

Kem Alapong

Its a Kem is a boot camp for group of people, students, trainee, family to enjoy the activties provide there. Its activities more to team building activities. 

Jangkar Waterfalls

Jangkar waterfalls is located in jangkar Village at Lundu Areas. It has multiple tiers and the best waterfall in Kuching. There are also hiking trails along the river side. 

SEMATAN AREAS:

Sebat & Mancar Sebako Waterfalls

These waterfalls are amongst the best hiddengem of Kuching! Its have multiples tiers and layers and also has the hiking trails along it. The best waterfalls in Kuching you could experience are at Jangkar, Sebat & Sebako. 

Zuhrah Pelangi Silk Farm

High on a hill in Sebat, Sematan there is a farm to produce and process Silk from the nature. This farm rears silkworms and process silk excoon for export to other countries. 

Pueh Longhouse Cultural Village & Kem Belia Pueh Beach

Pueh longhouse is specifically a Bidayuh Selako Longhouse and they are mostly found in the Pueh enclave. The village offers visitors an excellent, warm and friendly hospitality along with nature at its best. Not far from it is the beach of Kem Belia Pueh. Like Lundu, Sematan also strategically located by the sea and thats why these HiddenGem places of Kuching has everything about sea and beaches. 

Jetty Sematan Town 

The Jetty sematan Is located in the centre of the Sematan town. The scenery during Sunset is amazing and spectacular. You can see the island and blue sky lay infront of the jetty. Along the jetty also have seafood restaurant. It is refreshing to enjoy the seafoods while drinking fresh coconut water and enjoying the scenery.

Palm Beach

Another famous beaches in Sematan is Palm Beach. It is one of  the attraction to visit and stay in Palm Beach Resort or the  other alternative is Nomad Sematan Resort. Lot of fun activities you can do together with family & friends here.

Tanjung Datu National Park

Tanjung Datu National Park may be the smallest Sarawak national Park, but it also one of the most beautiful. The beaches really are undisturbed, the corals offshore are untouched and the forest trails are virtually untrodden. Tanjung Datu’s animal life is equally rich and varied. Notable amongst the hundreds of bird species are at least three types of Hornbill, as well as peacocks. Primates include Bornean Gibbons, Pig-Tailed Macaques, Long-Tailed (or Crab-Eating) Macaques, and Silvered and Banded Langurs (or Leaf Monkeys). Bearded Pigs, Sambar Deer, Mouse Deer, Barking Deer, Bearcats, Civet Cats and various species of squirrel are amongst the land mammals that may occasionally be seen here.

Talang - talang Island & Talang - Satang National Park

These tiny islands serve as sanctuaries for Green and Hawksbill Turtles. Over 90% of turtle landings are from Green Turtles. The islands are Sarawak’s most important turtle conservation site and are part of the Talang Satang National Park. Magnificent marine turtles are threatened species the world over. It was to protect these wonderful sea-going creatures that Sarawak created its first marine area National Park at Talang Satang.

Telok Melano

Telok Melano is also blessed with all the beauty, charm and attractions of tropical paradise. The Homestay Programme provides tourist/guest an 'memorable stay' with the welcoming hosts and an apportunity of enjoying nature at its best! 

Tukung Ara - Banun Island Wildlife Sanctuary

Pulau Tukong Ara-Banun is the breeding site of the Bridled tern and the Black-naped tern. Both species are protected under the Wild Life Protection Ordinance, 1998.
