KUCHING
The City Of Cat
Sarawak is the largest state in Malaysia that consist of cities such as Kuching, Miri, Sibu and Bintulu. The capital city, Kuching, is the economic centre and also as the state of Sarawak state Government. Under the division list are Bentong, Bintulu, Kapit, Kuching, Limbang, Miri, Mukah, Samarahan, Sarikei, Serian, Sri Aman and Sibu. The size of Sarawak state that is the size almost equal to West Malaysia made it look almost like a country.
If you have not visited the capital city of Sarawak, Kuching, here are a list of places that you might want to highlight for your future trip to the Cat city, KUCHING!
SANTUBONG, northern path of The City of Kuching:
1. Damai Central
Damai Central serves as an entertainment oasis enhancing lifestyle and holiday experience for both local and tourists alike. Damai Central has became the top attraction when you visit Kuching.

The resort at the Damai Central,the room rate starting as low as RM149/per night accommodate with room type. There are chalet, Pool view, Garden View, Sea view, Top Hill view etc. It only took 9 min from Damai Golf & Country Club and Mount Santubong.
2.Pasir pandak, rantau panjang beaches
These beaches located not very far from Damai beach. Pasir Pandak and Pasir Panjang are two beach-side kampungs which are surrounded by small rolling hills, coconut groves and durian orchards. These are ideal places to experience the simple village life amidst beautiful nature with plenty of family activities.
3. Mount Santubong trail
For those who like hiking, the panorama from the mount of Santubong is breath-taking. Besides, the view at the mount’s foot already a devine lanscape for eyes!
3. Santubong waterfall
A refreshing and cool bathe at the waterfall would be relaxing after tired of climbing. It is a temptation for everyone who come by the Santubong Waterfall!
4. Sarawak Cultural Village
After visiting Damai, pay a visit to Sarawak cultural village is a worthy idea. Tourist can get to know and being exposed about the Sarawak culture & etnics. As the largest State in Malaysia, Kuching also not excluded like the other cities in Sarawak’s state that have multi-ethnicity. Each and every ethics have different verbal languages and tradition that are vary from each other.
5. Samariang water park kuching
This is the newest Samariang water park in Kuching. Even though, its not the first water park so far but its actually the largest ones in Kuching.
MATANG, still the northern of Kuching city:
1.Bako national park
Bako is located on the tip of Muara Tebas penisula. The wave erosion has carved many rocks shape. The most famous of them is shaped like a cobra's head.
2. Kuching wetland national park
Its also located in Bako. The park is the home of at least three predominantly arboreal primates; the endangered proboscis monkey, the long-tailed macaques and the silvered langurs. White-bellied sea eagles, mudskippers and horseshoe crabs are also present. Otters and the Irrawaddy dolphins can also be sighted.
3. Tokong buddha Muara Tebas
The only Buddha temple / Tokong in Kuching that stucked on the top of hill is The Tokong Ching San Yen located in Muara Tebas. Straight down from the hill, there are lot of fresh and tasty seafood restaurant that just a walking distance from the Tokong.
4. Satang island
Still in the same district of northern path of Kuching city, this is Satang Island that located in the South China Sea that surrounding by pristine waters are protected as a sanctuary for turles. There are activities you could do in Satang Island :
- visit the turtle conversation & hartchery area
- learn about conversation programme
- snorkelling
- sight seeing the beautiful blue marine
5. Serapi mount (kubah national park)
Among the other mount, it is easy to spot Serapi mount as it can be identify by the telecommunication tower on top of it.

- the foot of the mount

- Selang trail
- Summit trail
- Palmetum trail

6. Sungai Rayu Matang
Sungai Rayu, Matang is less known in Kuching. It is suitable for family activities such as picnic, camping, barbeque etc while enjoying the clear river water.
7. Sinar Serapi Eco Theme Park
The theme park that out of the city of Kuching but only 30 minutes to Airport and Kuching Wetland National Park only drving distance. The resort that available with range equitment of amenities to ensure an enjoyable stay.
8. Mount Mike Hindu temple
The Maha Mariamman temple, the only Indian temple that build on a Mount in Kuching. On the right up of the temple is the bangalow house of the second White Rajah James Charles Brooke.
9. State of Sarawak Stadium
State of Sarawak Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Kuching. This is the stadium that hosted Sukma in 1990 which Sarawak won.
THE CITY OF KUCHING:
1. The Borneo House Museum
It is an interactive 3D and educational museum that displayed Sarawak culture, nature, heritage and food to life.
2. Sarawak State Museum
As what any other Museum does, it kept the heritage, treasure, culture and history of Sarawak. In Kuching city, you will found there are lot of museum around the city. Each one of them has different history in Sarawak especially Kuching.
3. Upside down house kuching
Its located beside the Hilton Hotel Kuching and operate daily. It has the entire gallery of a home that is in reverse. Suitable for pictorial activity.
4. The golden bridge “Darul Hana”
This is the newest landmark of Kuching City. A 330 meters length for a pedestrian bridge that strategically located with the Astana and Sarawak Legislative Assembly building.
5. Kuching waterfront
Placed straight facing the Sarawak Legislative Assembly building, The Astana, Fort Margherita and Kampong Boyan. In row with Riverbank Suite and the future “Float Mosque”. At day, tourist / people can enjoy jett-hoping, penambang boat and enjoying the fresh air while walking along the streets. Meanwhile, at night, there are colorful of lighting and music busking, talent performance along the street.
6. Square Tower
Its located in the middle of the Waterfront street, exactly next to the Golden Bridge Darul Hana. At first, It was constructed as a prison, later turned into a fortress. It operate only during days while, at night it surrounded by fountains and colorful lights.
7. carpenter street, Indian Street
Located in Padungan, its the oldest street in Kuching City. It has some superb example of chinese shophouse architecture.
It normally inheritaged by family generation and some of the families still pursue traditional and antique hand- craft.
This street selling particular textile and kind of goods.
8. The Fort Margherita
Fort Margherita was built in 1879 to guard Kuching’s river approaches from pirates. In the old days, a canon shot was fired from here every evening to mark the end of the government work day. Named after Charles Brooke’s wife, Ranee Margaret, it is a unmistakable landmark along Sarawak River. As the Fort is situated within the police training barracks, visitors may be asked for some form of ID.
9. The Astana, Palace of Sarawak
Strategically located opposite the Waterfront street and stuck next to Sarawak Legislative Assembly building, it is the Palace of Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, the Garbenor of Sarawak.
TABUAN/SONG, The southern of Kuching:
1. Friendship Park
The Malaysia - China friendship park was built to com-moderate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic realtionship between Malaysia and China. The scenary so beautiful especially at night. Most of the activities could be ssen there are various ages of people jogging, sight-seing, photo-shooting, talent performance, food truck, Tai Chi etc.
2. VH Green Nature Park
The VH Green Nature Park targetted family with children for educational and exposure to the nature.
PADAWAN/SIBURAN, still the southern of Kuching:
1. Borneo highland resort
Borneo Highland Resort is one of the most exciting and unique environmentally friendly resort. Cocooned in a lush jungle and snuggled within the hills 1000 meters above sea level, it is a retreat one of its kind, and give the viewer an incrideble scenery
2. Annah rais longhouse
Annah Rais village is predominantly Bidayuh, with an exception of cross marriages to other races. The village is estimated to be over a hundred years old, and has expanded in all directions throughout the century. Everything is real and devine from the costume, old pure languages and still practice old custom.
3. Pancor hot spring
Kampung Pancor Dayak is 40km from Kuching City that surrounded by nature and forest. The average temperature of the Hot Spring is 42 deg C. However, you still can request for adjustment of the temperature as you wish.
4. Jagoi river lodge
Its located in Padawan, 42 KM from Kuching city. This River lodge available with the Hut homestay for stay. There are activities such as barbeque, team-building etc to enjoy.
5. Semenggoh wildlife centre
The major attraction of Semenggoh Wildlife Centre is the Orang Utan. The best time to visit Semenggoh will be in the morning and afternoon for the feeding sessions. That’s when you have a good chance of meeting the semi-wild Orang Utan returning to the Centre for a free meal.
6. Jong crocodile farm & zoo
Land of Hornbills, Jong's crocodile farm & zoo is the first & largest captive breeding crocodile farm in Malaysia. Get to know the history and crocodile legends of Sarawak at the one and only known crocodile museum in Malaysia. See the skull of the notorious Bujang Senang, one of the largest crocodile ever caught in Sarawak. There are hundreds species of wildlife in the zoo.
7. Boyan Height Rainforest Retreat
Boyan Height Rainforest Retreat is situated in the rainforest at the base of Mount Peon and the Sarawak River beside the Bidayuh Village of Git. This is the same mountain but on the opposite side facing towards Giam Homestay. Suri, who is married to an Australian is the owner of this homestay. The lanscape and environemt is breath-taking. The environment really refreshing and cooling.
